ROTARY CLUB OF CROWBOROUGH |
|
This site is intended to provide programme details and reminders for existing members and to provide information to anyone interested in the Rotary in general and the Rotary Club of Crowborough in particular. Rotary is all about
FELLOWSHIP in SERVICE to one's community, the country and not least internationally. Rotary was founded nearly
100 years ago as an organisation of Professional & Business people intent
on helping people less fortunate than they. The Rotary Club of Crowborough
was chartered 50 years ago and we have recently received our certificate in
acknowledgement of this achievement. Rotary is a tremendously good way of
successful people to put back into society what they have been fortunate
enough to gain.
The members of Crowborough
Rotary Club are very keen, that in order to keep up the impetus of the work
we carry out, that we should recruit new and young blood into the club. Many
people think of Rotary as a mens club, as indeed it was, things have now
changed and Rotary is a dual gender organisation, some of the newer clubs
that have been formed have a large proportion of lady members several of whom
have now risen through the ranks to become club presidents. Our christmas appeal where
we call on the successful businesses in our community to put a little back
and so to help us in our work within the community. Last year our appeal
raised in the order of £2500 and we are hoping to improve on this year. We would be pleased to hear from anyone who has an interest in our organisation, please contact us through one of the links in this site and we would be pleased to tell you more about Rotary and even better invite you along to one of our meetings to meet us and see more of what we do. Fellowship is our prime objective and it is through this fellowship that we achieve our aims within the community. |
