Ladies Xmas Meal- Littlestone Golf Club- 2009

With the club assembled and crackers pulled it was shaping up to be an enjoyable evening.

Di was detirmined to enjoy herself  but all was not straight forward for others.

Why doesn't it balance? It's probably that bloke from the Post Office.

Now look here. I've told you before the posting date for international mail was last week!

Franks calm words soothed the situation and he said Pam could make up any shortfall.

Raymond had obviously had a few before he came but really, the food wasn't even on the table yet.

Steve decided that Lindas head needed slight adjustment or he was warming his hands? Who knows.

Anyway,  when the food came it was great and everyone enjoyed the occasion.

Cavaliers .v. Rotary  July 7th 2009

With the facilities of Lydd Cri cket Club at our disposal; the team of talents assembled;  an enthusiastic crowd well lubricated it was only the weather that thtreatened to spoil things..   The highlight must have been panther Potter leaping in vain to catch a well struck shot to the mid-off. Although the extra long spikes devious Denis had fitted were not accustomed to the Lydd pitch slope and he came an unfortunate cropper on his second delivery.  With some hostile bowling from our guest players Cavaliers were restricted to 107 from their 20 overs.

In reply a promising 74 all out led by Captain Suru. The win  cheered up the Cavaliers no end as they were all soaked in the downpour. Panther Potter again stole the plaudits with his balletic rendition of the 'Box Repositioning Dance' . Steve Aldridge deserves mention for being 'not out'.

Fish & Chips with yummy sweet course supplied by our good ladies completed the evening which was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Suru, David and Roger J for their various roles in organising the event.

It's good to talk, saves fielding the ball.    Why don't they score slower    Fluency in action

That's a great idea to get the men to talk to us      Come on Ray, show some enthusiasm.          Its great being President, Fish& Chips
