Club Service
Chairman: John Griffin
John Griffin - Chairman of Club Service The Club Service committee is responsible for the general organisation and administration of the club and deals with Membership, Classification and Information.

In Favershan the first vice president of the club is the chairman of club service and he and his committee administer the normal weekly meetings, the catering, procedural matters, the programme of speakers and other club activities.

In practice many of these matters are undertaken by certain club officers i.e. the secretary or treasurer. Whilst most activities are delegated to Rotarians the President is ultimately responsible for the smooth running of the club and to ensure that the Rotary Club represents the Rotary Movement in a responsible and charitable way within the community.

There is also a social side to Rotary and there are many events that are for the entertainment of Rotarians, family and friends. In Faversham these include an Xmas dinner, Evenings with Ladies and the President's Night dinner and dance and many more.

Community & Vocational
Chairman: Scott Reeve
Scott Reeve - Chairman of Community & Vocatonal As its name implies this committee helps individuals and organisations in the local community that are either deserving causes or supports projects that are beneficial to the community.

The club raises thousands of pounds from its own fund raising events e.g. the Xmas Carol Tour and the Charity Golf Day which have supported such charirities as the Demelza House Children's Hospice, the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and local needs such as the safe play area by the swimming pool and the St. John Ambulance headquarters.

Many other individual local people, particularly young people, have been helped on educational or adventure training.

With more emphasis these days on the environment there are now many activities in Rotary which have an environmental theme including the clearing of part of Faversham Creek and the Stonebridge Pond and the sponsoring of the flower gardens within the town.

International
Chairman: John E Griffin
John E Griffin - Chairman of International The International Committee is responsible for promoting international understanding by arranging visits between contact clubs, youth exchanges and student exchanges between countries.

A number of charities, special projects and activities in third world countries or areas of the world affected by disasters or wars are supported by individual Rotary Clubs or the Rotary Movement as a whole. A lot of this work is co-ordinated between clubs in different countries via their International Committees.

Rotary Foundation forms part of the international work by the provision of matching grants towards humanitarian projects initiated by clubs.

Foundation also supports educational and cultural work throughout the world by the provision of Ambassadorial Scholarships, educational grants and Group Study Exchanges between the professional adults of different countries.
