We held our fourth open-air rock/pop 'tribute' concert on 20th July 2002 and, despite a bit of rain, it was the most successful to date. Appropriately, this is a true "Riverside" event, as the venue is a field on the banks of the Medway, courtesy once again of Bryan and Jo Baughan.

Superb organisation once more from Ron Goodman and Alan Pamplin. The trailer used for the stage was courtesy of Lenham Storage (thanks Geoff) The labour of event set-up and stewarding was shared by just about every Riversider.

Ron's reputation as our weather deity took a minor dent as a result of a short thunderstorm in the early evening (but a total of ten minutes rain in four years of concerts is still a pretty impressive record). Nobody's enthusiasm was dented - waterproofs and umbrellas came out and plastic sheets were drawn over picnics - and we all danced a bit more energetically afterward in order to dry out!

Some people had checked-out the weather forecast and brought gazebos; others just picnicked nearer to the stage.
First on stage was Marylyn Maxwell, as Debbie Harry of Blondie.

.. followed by the Imposters for their first set, when they gave us Dire Straits, Police and Eric Clapton

Louise Kenny was Madonna (sorry chaps - too much camera-shake in the pointed corset images)
... followed by Jackie Webbe, returning as Diana Ross and reminding us of the Motown sound.

The final set brought The Imposters back on as Bon Jovi, Rolling Stones, Queen, and Status Quo

Final figures aren't in yet, but early indications show an audience of about 1200 (age range from 5 to 'wrinkly') and a profit to our charity account in the region of £9000
