Kent County Showground in July. Once again, the annual County Show, organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society. You can find livestock.....

farming equipment, new and old.......

large or small.....

.....complex or simple.

There is a flower show.....

the magic of steam...

all the fun of the fair.....

and of course.......

...people. Approximately 80,000 people visited the showground during the three days of the Show

and had to be managed through the eight separate entrances

..... and that was our job. Maidstone Riverside have the contract to man the gates and ticket booths. It is a lot of work, 1200 man-hours over the three days. About two-thirds was done by Riversiders and their families, and most of the rest by Maidstone Inner Wheel and 'our' Interact Club (Maidstone Grammar School)
