| The approach broadly follows the experiential
learning model based on the logic that individuals learn better
through active involvement and seeing at first-hand the consequences
of their actions.
Course participants undergo a series of exercises to promote
learning in line with the course objectives. Review sessions are
faciltated by Rotarians on completion of each task or learning
experience. These allow teams to reflect on team and leadership
aspects that arise, and take learning forward to the next exercise.
Individuals also keep a log-book record of the key learning
points from each exercise, and personal feedback is given to each
participant on observed individual behaviours.
Facilitators also promote discussion on various leadership aspects
during the review sessions as a further aid to understanding.
This cycle of real experience, reflection and application continues
throughout the whole weekend.
