Lizzie Gawen (Eastbourne) - October 2004

"I was nervous at first, but soon made friends and it was really good fun. Some of the challenges surprised me because I pushed myself further than before. The food was great too. Thanks to all the leaders and my sponsors."

Becky Pavell (Gravesham & Meopham) - October 2004

"I'll admit the weekend has been a lot more fun than I thought. Being older, I did not think I would benefit from the activities, but I can (hand on heart) say I've enjoyed myself. I've made new friends and learnt things about myself and leadership."

Catherine Sherratt (Sittingbourne Invicta) - October 2004

"I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. I did a number of team activities, and had loads of fun. I made new friends and learnt new skills some of which I never even thought of would relate to a leader. I would just like to say that I would recommend this to anyone."

Jemma Williamson (Eastbourne) - March 2004

"At first I was scared of not knowing anyone, but as the weekend progressed I realised that I had nothing to worry about. The teams were all supportive and trusting. Overall I had a great weekend and built up my confidence, whilst at the same time making some new friends."

David Dixon (Margate) - March 2004

"This weekend has been a great experience in leadership and I have met a lot of new friends. I found all the tasks very enjoyable, and had a go at everything."

Ashley Ramrachia (Langley Park) - March 2004

"The weekend was an interesting opportunity to meet new people and learn more about leadership. The activities were fun and challenging, and everyone grew in confidence. I have really gained a useful insight into what makes a good leader and how difficult it is!"

Laura Gilchrist (Crofton) - October 2003

"This weekend I have become very independent as an individual. I have learnt things about myself; both good and bad things. This is the first time I have done all these different types of activities, and have had to think of others. I have learnt about independence, encouragement to others and staying positive. I have come out of this on a positive note and have had a really enjoyable time."

Nathan Turner (Orpington) - October 2003

"I feel that this experience has made me grow and the memory of this weekend will always stay with me. I pushed myself to my limits and perhaps stretched beyond in the High Ropes, but with the aid of my teams cheering and constant morale boost, I was able to face my fears. The talks about leadership has made me want to lead and get active to help my community."

Lucy Radford-Earle (Senlac) - October 2003

"When I first arrived at Arethusa I wanted to leave because I hardly knew anyone. I thought I would be a social outcast, but the next day I just couldn't understand how I could have thought that. Everyone here is so friendly, and the activities are really exciting. I don't think anyone clashed, which is surprising as everyone here is so headstrong. I have learned a lot from this experience, and I really enjoyed the weekend."

Madeline Fords (Southborough) - April 2003

"This weekend, I had a really good time. I made new friends and enjoyed new experiences. I really enjoyed the high ropes, but although I was really scared I managed to do everything on offer. The weekend was really challenging, but everyone worked well together and made sure that everyone had the best time possible."

Charles Fletcher (Eltham Phoenix) - April 2003

"The weekend was an intense experience with little time to stop and rest. Although I was dubious when first arriving, I settled in very easily and soon found connections with other people on the course. I really enjoyed the activities like high ropes and blind trail. A great weekend with fun people."

Ben Cantor (Sittingbourne Invicta) - April 2003

"This weekend has been really fun. It has pushed me to my physical limits and it made me think about team work. I built up confidence in myself and learned to trust other people. It taught me that leadership is not about telling everyone what to do, but to encourage your team to work together to get a better outcome."

Stewart Quinn (Tenterden) - September 2002

"The weekend was a great boost for my leadership skills. Everything we did helped us to improve in confidence, communication and motivational skills. Activities included high ropes, low ropes, climbing wall, blind trail and team building exercises. The food was good and the staff were willing to help all the time. It was a worthwhile experience, which I'd recommend to anyone."

Katie Wynn (Isle of Sheppey) - September 2002

"I believe I achieved a great deal this weekend. I overcame my fear of heights. The activities were great and I'm really glad I came.

I would like to thank the Isle of Sheppey Rotary Club who sponsored me. I have gained a lot and I think it will definitely help me in the future, especially at work."

Lydia Coward (Crayford) - March 2002

"Before I arrived I had no idea what to expect, but now I realise what an important lesson it was. Learning and fun all mixed in one!"

Andrew Jones (Deal & Sandwich) - March 2002

"I thought the weekend was brilliant and I made lots of friends. I would definitely come here again next year. I have more confidence and social skills now."

Natalie Mitchell (Sittingbourne Invicta) - March 2001

"This weekend was challenging (e.g. the pole and trapeze), but it pushed people to go past their limits and discover they can do more.  Our team worked very well together, and the trust we had in each other was much greater than I had expected. It was great fun, and I made lots of friends and contacts with other Interact groups to work with in the future. Thank you."

Thomas Wild (West Wickham) - March 2001

"I found this weekend very good.  Most people got on with each other, which was a great help.  The weekend helped a lot of our leadership skills, but was still a lot of fun. In all,it was a great weekend, and a good chance to make new friends. Thanks very much."
