The Rotary Club of Tenterden was founded in 1947 and draws its members from the ancient Cinque town of Tenterden located near the South Kent coast in England, to the west of Canterbury and east of Hastings. Our weekly meetings are held on Thursdays at the Tenterden Club, in the centre of the town.
As a club we get involved in many charitable and social activities both at home and abroad, and you certainly won’t find Tenterden Rotary boring !

"Tenterden Rotarian, Mike Miller, was fortunate recently to win a golf tournament organised by the Rotary Club of Fulham at Coomb Wood golf club in Kingston upon Thames. As part of his prize he was given the opportunity to make a £1000 donation to a charity of his choice &, having consulted with his local fellow Rotarians, WaterAid in Africa was his choice.
WaterAid has for 25 years been a beneficiary for support from Rotary clubs throughout the UK & many Rotarians volunteer their time & services to help create a more healthy environment for Africans in rural areas by bringing water sources & sanitation into needy communities. New clean water sources also enrich the communities by providing meeting places from which economic benefits naturally then accrue.
Mike is seen pictured with the trophy which is played for each year."

The annual Tenterden Rotary Club Cycle Ride took place on Sunday 27th June. Despite very hot weather the cyclists enjoyed a scenic ride around Tenterden. Ages of entrants ranged from 8 year old Katie Lang to 78 year old Peter Shaw.
Peter Shaw lives in Abbeyfield in St Leonards, this is a residential home providing care for older people. Peter is a loyal supporter of the event - this is his eighth consecutive year. This year Peter cycled from Aylesford Priory where he had been on a Church retreat, then completed the 22 mile route around Tenterden, then cycled 17 miles back home ! Some years he also manages to attend the church service at St Mildreds.
