Whitstable Rotary Flower  Weekend March 29-30 th March 2008

After last year when after a considerable effort we made nearly £400 the weekend willl be

repeated but in a simpler mode Narcissi will be available at £1.00 per bunch of 20 flowers

outside St Alphege Church.

 

Hazebrouck,France to visit our Partner club will take place during the weekend of 7-9th December 2007

Aquabox Collections

 

Our first public collection will take place on Sunday 2nd December at our new shop at 140 Tankerton Road.

 

A further collection is arranged for Friday/Saturday on 4/5 th January 2008

Auction of Promises  January 26th

 

It is sometime since Whitstable Rotary organised an Auction of Promises.  This year (sorry next year) it will be held at the Marine Hotel, Tankerton. The Charities will be announced later. We need some good gifts to Auction. Please email Kevin Fielding with any offers

How to Cross the Channel in several “Easy” ways!  February 9th

 

 

 

 

 

 

P & O have kindly offered us a place on one of the cross channel ferries on Saturday 9th February 2008. The concept will be to obtain sponsorship to row, cycle or walk/run the channel on exercise machines.  Money will be collected in buckets during the crossing. We shall depart late morning for France, leave the ship for its return to England then return when it arrives back again in France. All proceeds will go the Wheelchair Foundation, Mercy Ships and RNLI (requested by P&O). Other Rotary Clubs are welcome to enter a team (or more) Small prizes will be given for the fastest distance covered in each section (Rowing, Cycling or Walking - on the exercise machines of course!!! Anybody wishing to enter please try to supply own machine. Transport will be arranged to collect  nachines (Dover) to take on board further information please contact Kevin Fielding  Teams to be 3 to 4 Rotarians. You do not have to really fit as main objective is not to win but to participate! Each member of each team can row, cycle or walk/run for as long or as little as he/she likes before the other team member will take over.  A race on the return journey will also be held to gain more money. We will have a lunch in Calais before return trip - so not too much eating and drinking!
