 Norman Hollamby

As the new President of Whitstable Rotary Club he stated, “I hope to continue the success we had last year when we raised in excess of £20,000 for good causes. One of my chosen charities this year is The Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT). They build specialist treatment wards for teenagers who are currently placed with either adults or children. Adolescence is difficult enough without the added trauma of battling cancer so TCT create a bespoke environment for them.
Another charity is Westbere Sailing Opportunities which provides sailing for the disabled. It was where quadriplegic Hilary Lister learnt and she achieved sailing across the channel and most recently, round Britain.

The public have always been very supportive of Rotary events and I hope they will continue to be so generous despite this difficult financial climate. I look forward to the year ahead.
